Excavations begin for new Huntington Bank Field in Brook Park

BROOK PARK, Ohio (WOIO) - The Cleveland Browns began mass excavations Monday on the site of the new Huntington Bank Field.

Dee and Jimmy Haslam said the official groundbreaking will happen April 30 in Brook Park.

According to Independence Excavating, the site requires crews to dig 80-feet deep and move nearly 2-million cubic yards of dirt.

Once the site is ready, AECOM Hunt and Turner Construction are taking lead on the build.

The multi-billion dollar stadium is set to hold up to 75,000 fans.

Plus, according to the Haslams, it will have the closest seats to the field in the NFL.
