Victor Wembanyama, one of the biggest stars in the NBA, has made a desperate public plea for help to find a missing friend.

The San Antonio Spurs player shared two posts on Instagram about his friend Elijah, saying that he was last seen on February 27 at Chicago's O'Hare airport.

According to the local news report Wembanyama also posted, the 23-year-old was dropped off at the airport by his father after a 10-day trip to Chicago to visit him.

He was set to fly back to France but never checked in for the journey and did not board the plane.

His father said to ABC7 Chicago that Elijah struggles with mental illness and didn't want to go back to France from the United States.

'Everything seemed pretty normal those first eight days,' he said. 'But those last two days, his whole mood had swung and he was really adamant about not going back home, he didn't want to get on the plane.'

The report adds that Elijah's phone has been off since Friday and that he is not believed to have much money to be by himself.

Wembanyama's post added: 'Our friend Elijah has been missing from Chicago O'Hare since February 27th.

'If you have any information please reach out to local authorities.'
