Mike Greenberg Endorses Celtics' Jaylen Brown For NBA MVP

ESPN's Mike Greenberg made a strong case for Boston Celtics superstar Jaylen Brown as the league's Most Valuable Player during a recent appearance on Get Up. With the Celtics sitting at 40-20 after a convincing 114-98 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday, Greenberg pointed to Brown's leadership amid Jayson Tatum's absence.

"They are 40-20... If I had a vote, right this minute, Jaylen Brown would be my MVP because of what he's meant to this team that everyone thought might even consider tanking this season," Greenberg said.

Boston's recent performance backs up the praise. In the victory against Philadelphia, Brown posted 27 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists in 38 minutes, helping the team maintain second place in the Eastern Conference behind the Detroit Pistons (45-14). Neemias Queta also shone with a career-high 27 points and 17 rebounds, but Brown's consistent play has been the anchor for the Celts all season long.

The Celtics are set to face the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday without Brown, who is sidelined by a non-COVID illness, along with Queta (rest) and Tatum (Achilles). Despite the absences, don't rule out the C's. Boston's depth has kept them competitive, with a 8-2 record in their last 10 games.

Greenberg's JB endorsement comes as the MVP race intensifies. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander leads the pack, followed by Nikola Jokic and Cade Cunningham, but Brown's emergence has placed him in the conversation.
