NFL Announces Bad Bunny Officially Made Halftime Show History

The NFL has announced that Bad Bunny officially made halftime show history during Super Bowl 60.

Bad Bunny, the Puerto Rican rapper and singer, officially made history during his performance at Super Bowl 60. Bad Bunny, a controversial pick by some - including President Trump - made history by being the most-watched halftime show performer in NFL history.

The league announced the news on Monday, March 2.

There were more than 4.1 billion views globally of Bad Bunny's Super Bowl 60 halftime show. It's the most in league history.

The league shared an announcement from Roc Nation, which helps the NFL make its Super Bowl halftime show picks, on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Monday afternoon.

"Bad Bunny Sets Global Viewership Record for Most-Watched Super Bowl Halftime Show Performance of All-Time," the league announced.

Bad Bunny had initially fallen short of history

While Super Bowl 60 averaged 124.9 million viewers on NBC, Peacock, Telemundo, NBC Sports Digital and NFL+, according to Nielsen's Big Data + Panel rating system, Bad Bunny's halftime show averaged more.

Bad Bunny's halftime show averaged 128.2 million viewers from 8:15 to 8:30 p.m. ET. That made it the fourth-highest rated halftime show ever, trailing Kendrick Lamar (133.5 million, 2025), Michael Jackson (133.4 million, 1993) and Usher (129.3 million, 2024).

Ultimately, though, Bad Bunny's Super Bowl 60 halftime show received more than 4.1 billion views in total. That's the most ever.

It's a global record - and a highly impressive one - for both Bad Bunny and the National Football League after the conclusion to the 2025 NFL regular season.

Congrats, Bad Bunny.
