Green Bay Packers: Rich Bisaccia turns to college coaching scene in 2026 to continue football…

The Green Bay Packers were shocked a couple of weeks ago when special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia announced that he was stepping down from his position with the organization. Unfortunately, the decision came right at the end of the NFL coaching cycle, so many of the candidates that Green Bay may have interviewed were already off the market.

In the end, though, the Packers settled on Cam Achord to be their next special teams coordinator. He spent the last two seasons on staff with the New York Giants. However, he was previously the special teams coordinator of the New England Patriots under Bill Belichick, and was the overseer of a unit there that won a Super Bowl.

According to the Packers, Bisaccia stepped down from the organization because he wanted to pursue other coaching opportunities.

On Monday, it was reported that the former Green Bay special teams coordinator had agreed to join the Clemson football coaching staff:

“TigerNet has learned that Clemson head coachDabo Swinneyis set to hire Rich Bisaccia as the Tigers’ new special teams coach.

“Hiring is conditional on a completed background check and approval by the Board of Trustees Compensation Committee, and both are expected later this week. Bisaccia replaces Will Gilchrist, who moved on to Samford in January after three years with Clemson.”

Bisaccia previously was the running backs and special teams coach at Clemson from 1994-1998. His last foray in the college coaching scene was a two-year stint as the assistant head coach/special teams coach/running backs coach at Ole Miss from 2000-2001.

Since then, Bisaccia has served as the special teams coordinator of multiple NFL franchises. His stops have included the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, San Diego Chargers, Dallas Cowboys, Las Vegas Raiders, and Packers.
