Celtics Hold Steady In Top Five Of Latest NBA Power Rankings

The Boston Celtics have been on a roll as of late, and with Jayson Tatum appearing close to making his season debut, they may just be the scariest team in the Eastern Conference right now. Unsurprisingly, that train of thought has been reflected in the latest NBA power rankings.

All season long, the C's have been exceeding expectations, and folks across the league are beginning to accept that they are one of the top teams in the league. In NBA insider Brett Siegel's latest power rankings for ClutchPoints, he has Boston holding steady at the No. 4 spot behind the San Antonio Spurs, Detroit Pistons and Oklahoma City Thunder.

"Boston has been one of the best teams in the league since the calendar flipped to 2026, and they have won 11 of their last 13 games overall," Siegel wrote. "Joe Mazzulla deserves a ton of credit for the job he's done without Tatum this year, and Boston continues to roll defensively."

Even after losing several key members of its rotation over the offseason, the Celtics haven't skipped a beat this season. With Jaylen Brown leading the way, and guys like Neemias Queta, Hugo Gonzalez, and Baylor Scheierman taking on bigger roles in the rotation, the C's have remained a top-tier team on both sides of the ball.

It's the potential return of Tatum that has folks giddy about what Boston could accomplish this season, even though it entered the year without several key members of its 2024 Finals team. The Celtics will look to keep the good times rolling when they square off against the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday night.
