Oklahoma City Thunder Announce Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Update Before Bulls Game

On Tuesday evening, the Oklahoma City Thunder will be in Chicago to take on the Bulls at the United Center.

The Thunder are coming off a 100-87 victory over the Dallas Mavericks (in Texas).

Superstar guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way with 30 points in 33 minutes of playing time.

Before the Thunder play the Bulls, the team announced that they will be without Gilgeous-Alexander.

The 2025 MVP is currently averaging 31.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, 6.4 assists and 1.4 steals per contest while shooting 55.1% from the field and 38.1% from three-point range in 51 games.

OKC Thunder reporter wrote Clemente Almanza: “Thunder injury report for tomorrow’s game against the Bulls: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (abdominal strain injury management) is out Jalen Williams (hamstring strain) is out Isaiah Hartenstein (soleus injury management) is out Ajay Mitchell (abdominal strain, ankle sprain) is out Branden Carlson (back strain) is out Nikola Topic (G League assignment) is out Thomas Sorber (torn ACL) is out”

Gilgeous-Alexander is in his eighth NBA season (and seventh playing for the Thunder).

He spent his rookie year with the LA Clippers before a trade in the Summer of 2019 sent him to OKC.

The NBA wrote (on Monday): “Most consecutive 20-point road games: CHECK Next up… Wilt’s overall record of 126 straight 20-point games! Shai is at 123 🍿”

After leading the franchise to the 2025 NBA Championship over the Indiana Pacers, Gilgeous-Alexander and the Thunder are the best team in the league during the 2025-26 season.

They are the first seed in the Western Conference with a 47-15 record in 62 games.

After the Bulls, the Thunder will play Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks on Wednesday at Madison Square Garden.

On the other side of play, the Bulls are the 12th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 25-36 record in 61 games.

They are just 1-9 over their last ten.
