Liverpool have two highly exciting dream winger transfer targets in mind

Liverpool were the biggest spenders in the summer 2025 transfer window, bringing in Hugo Ekitike, Alexander Isak, and Florian Wirtz to revamp their attack while adding two new fullbacks to the lineup.

But heading into the summer 2026 transfer window, Liverpool still have pressing needs to address in the attack. Mohamed Salah is going to be as good as gone, as he is clearly no longer capable of leading the Liverpool attack due to his declining explosiveness and downturn in goals.

Meanwhile, Cody Gakpo is also someone who will be removed from the starting lineup due to his own lack of dynamism. Liverpool are missing Luis Diaz more than they thought they would, as the Colombian is having an even better 2025/26 over at Bayern Munich.

So Liverpool need new wingers to fortify their squad in 2026, and according to a report from Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, the Reds have identified Bayern Ballon d’Or candidate Michael Olise and RB Leipzig breakout superstar Yann Diomande (a Bayern transfer target) as their two dream options on the wings this year.

Per Plettenberg, Liverpool know that Olise is an unrealistic dream, as the Frenchman does not want to leave Bayern, and Bayern obviously do not want to sell a winger on the precipice of breaking records with 10 goals and 16 assists this Bundesliga season.

Diomande, on the other hand, is seen as a more realistic target, though that does not necessarily mean he is easy. RB Leipzig know the 19 year old is special, and the man who plucks Cruyff turns out of the air carries a 100 million euro price tag, if Leipzig were to sell at all.

Olise is an ideal right wing successor for Salah who can score, create, progress, and win one-on-one. Diomande can do all those things to a lesser degree but with even more explosiveness, future upside, and the versatility to supplant Gakpo on the left or Salah on the right.
