A shootout on Monday night left a Pasadena Police Department officer wounded and a suspect dead.
The shooting happened at 7:30 p.m. after police were called to the area for reports of two people arguing near the intersection of Sierra Madre Villa Avenue and Del Vina Street. When officers arrived, the suspect and the officers exchanged gunfire, according to city spokesperson Lisa Derderian.
The suspect died at the scene.

The officer was rushed to the hospital in an unknown condition. Derderian said the officer was in surgery at 8:42 p.m.
