United looking for double over Newcastle

Manchester United beat Newcastle 1-0 at Old Trafford in December thanks to a Patrick Dorgu winner. This week the team heads to St. James’ Park looking to secure an away win.

The Red Devils have not won away at Newcastle since the 2020/21 season. Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes scored in a 4-1 away victory.

It is notable that this win occurred with no fans in the stadium, due to lockdowns. Since then United’ have drawn one’s best result there has been a draw, with Edinson Cavani scoring in a 1-1 draw.

The past three visits have all been defeats. Last season was a 4-1 loss under Ruben Amorim.

Breakthrough doubles vs Palace, Everton, and landmark Arsenal win

Michael Carrick’s Manchester United side have recently achieved impressive milestones with the wins over Crystal Palace and Everton.

The 2-1 victory over Palace ensured Manchester United’s league double over Palace for 2025/26, courtesy of the same scoreline at Selhurst Park earlier this season. This was also the first time we have beaten Palace home and away since 2020/21.

The 1-0 win away at Everton also secured a rare double-win at both the Toffees and over Liverpool in the same season. It was the first time this had happened since 2017/18, when Jose Mourinho was in charge, and when Carrick was still playing.

Another notable achievement under Michael Carrick was the 3-2 away win over Arsenal. This was United’s first away win at the Gunners since 2016/17.
