Eintracht Frankfurt defender planning exit after Liverpool scouting mission

Eintracht Frankfurt defender Nnamdi Collins is emerging as one of the more intriguing names on Liverpool’s defensive radar ahead of the summer window, with the youngster already laying the groundwork for a move away from the Bundesliga.

Scouts from Anfield have recently been in the stands to watch the 22‑year‑old in action, adding fuel to growing expectations that he could push for a Premier League switch at the end of the season. For a Liverpool backline likely to be reshaped in the coming months, Collins’ age, versatility and athletic profile make him a potential long‑term project rather than just another depth option.

According to Sky Germany, Collins has informed Eintracht that he intends to leave this summer, with the defender openly harbouring ambitions of joining his “dream” club in England. The former Borussia Dortmund prospect has enjoyed a resurgence under new head coach Albert Riera, who is actually a former Liverpool player himself.

Collins impressing not only in his natural role on the right but also when deployed at left‑back during Frankfurt’s 2‑0 win over Freiburg on matchday 24. Those adaptable performances have helped elevate his status from promising squad player to one of the more talked‑about young defenders in the league.

Liverpool are far from alone in tracking Collins, with Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United and Brentford also named among the sides following his progress closely. Frankfurt sporting boss Markus Krösche is expected to demand at least €40 million for the defender, reflecting both his contract security and his growing importance to the team

Last year, Collins revealed that the Premier League and especially Liverpool is his dream destination: “I simply think the Premier League is fantastic, especially Liverpool. You should always set yourself high goals; that’s why we all started playing football,” he said.
