Thierno Barry scored his sixth goal of the season in Everton’s win against Newcastle United on the weekend.
Thierno Barry netted the winner in the 3-2 victory, which moved Everton up to the 40-point milestone in their quickest time since 2017.

Barry’s goal actually broke a trend that had stood for over two years, as he became the first Toffees substitute to score a Premier League winner since Idrissa Gana Gueye in November 2023.
Gueye scored an 86th-minute winner against Crystal Palace in that particular clash, having come off the bench for Amadou Onana.

Barry was dropped to the bench against Newcastle for the first time since December, aside from the FA Cup defeat to Sunderland.
Although considering the Frenchman and Beto both got on the scoresheet, there is uncertainty around which one will start this evening.
Moyes was asked in Monday’s press conference if he would consider playing them in a front two, to which he replied: “Possibly, at times.

“There are other factors that lead into that. Other people are coming out of the side and you’re looking at different players if you do that as well.

“It’s probably been out of fashion, two strikers, for maybe 20 years now. It’s interesting because lots of things have come in like long throws have come back in fashion and lots of set-piece goals are back in fashion, so who knows?
“Playing two centre-forwards might be the future. Will we do it? We may well do it when we need to, but I don’t think it’s something I’d be doing all the time, that’s for sure.”
Moyes also admitted he’s been disappointed with Barry and Beto’s numbers this season, so he’s urged them to go on a run in these final 10 games of the season.
