Liverpool’s potential interest in a €130m deal for Michael Olise is causing plenty of fuss at Bayern Munich.

That’s if the latest from BILD is anything to go by. The German newspaper looks at the situation today and ‘how dangerous Liverpool will be’.

Their report explains that for the second tie in a very short period, rumours about Liverpool’s interest in Olise are swirling. Reports in England have insisted that Liverpool are keen on the winger.

The idea comes from the fact that Mohamed Salah looks set to leave Liverpool this summer. Should he do so, then Olise would be his replacement. The 24-year-old has been in phenomenal form again this season for Bayern, with 13 goals and 25 assists in 36 games.

Liverpool ‘something to take seriously’

And according to BILD’s information, the Reds’ interest is something to ‘take seriously’. The problem is that Bayern don’t have to sell.

Olise is tied down to a deal until 2029 and it doesn’t include a release clause. The German giants would have to consider an offer in the ‘nine-figure range’ though. Why? Because they also have their eyes on RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande.

Thus, they could be tempted by a sum of around €130m for Olise. That would give them a profit and the funds to buy a replacement in Diomande.

A return to the Premier League would appeal to Olise too, although he feels comfortable at Bayern. His performances there have earned him an ‘extremely high standing’ in the Bayern dressing room. There’s no reason for him to leave.

Liverpool could be tempting

But Liverpool could be tempting, if they ever make a serious offer for him. For now, it’s just rumours about interest and nothing more. If they were to tempt him, they’d need Champions League football to do so.

With that far from secured at this moment in time, the focus at Anfield is likely to be on that. But Olise is a name to keep an eye on, with Bayern certainly concerned.
