'He looks unbelievable': Joe Cole suggests Everton missed out on gem who will 'go all the way…

Everton reportedly looked at Rayan a couple of years ago and is now being tipped to go to the very top by pundit Joe Cole.

Rayan joined Bournemouth in the January transfer window from Vasco da Gama, with the Cherries forking out around £25 million to sign him.

Would you rather sign a promising young striker overseas or a proven Premier League centre-forward? 🤔

And Rayan has wasted little time making an impact for his new team.

So far, he’s scored two goals and laid on an assist for Bournemouth, and has caught the eye of neutrals for his exciting ability.

Everton were said to have looked at Rayan a couple of years ago, and it’s already looking like the Toffees have missed out big time.

Joe Cole tips former Everton target Rayan for ‘the top’

Rayan was ‘one of a number of players discussed’ by Everton during the 2023/24 season.

But no move ever materialised, with Rayan remaining in Brazil until earlier this year.

For Joe Cole, the future is extremely bright for Rayan, who he is tipping to go to the very top.

He said in a video on The Dressing Room TikTok channel: “I’ll tell you what. I’ve not been as excited about a player who I didn’t know who’s come to the Premier League as Rayan.

“I’ve watched him a few times. He looks unbelievable. He’s big, powerful, strong.

“I think that kid’s going to go all the way to the top. So keep an eye out for Rayan.”

Rayan will be the envy of clubs everywhere soon

The verdict from Cole is one that many Premier League fans will also share

Rayan has come over from Brazil and immediately hit the ground running for Bournemouth, who must be extremely excited about the talent they have on their hands.

Everton have already seen first-hand the damage Rayan is capable of, when he gave Vitalii Mykolenko the runaround at Hill Dickinson Stadium a few weeks ago.

Rayan did give a penalty away in that game, but he also scored and was just a thorn in the Ukrainian’s side all night.

It’s been a cracking start, and he seems to have all the attributes that will make him a success in the English top-flight.

It’s unclear if Everton ever came particularly close to signing Rayan.

But the fact he was linked will mean Evertonian eyes will be on his development, and quite possibly he could make for very uncomfortable viewing.
