Real Madrid and Brazil superstar offered to Chelsea

Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior will hope to see his side return to winning ways when they visit Aston Villa on Wednesday.

The Englishman oversaw four consecutive wins in the Premier League following his appointment in January, but his side are now without a victory in their last three outings in the competition.

Last time out, the Blues were beaten 2-1 by Premier League leaders Arsenal at The Emirates, leaving the west London outfit sixth in the table and in danger of missing out on qualification for next season’s Champions League.

Now, though, reports emerging from Spain indicate that Chelsea could soon be handed a huge boost in their pursuit of a La Liga superstar.

According to Fichajes, the representatives of Real Madrid forward Rodrygo have initiated contact with Chelsea about a possible deal to take the player to Stamford Bridge.

It is claimed that the Brazilian has become frustrated at his relative lack of playing time since the departure of Carlo Ancelotti, with the winger having started just six of Real’s 26 La Liga games so far this term.

With that in mind, it is claimed that the player’s agents have moved quickly to reignite contact with potential interested clubs, with Chelsea named as one of the clubs at the forefront of the race to land the player.

Rodrygo joined Real from Brazilian side Santos as a teenager back in 2019 and has since established a reputation as one of the most dangerous attacking players in Europe.

In total he has scored 71 goals and provided 57 assists in 297 games across all competitions for the club.

The Brazil international’s contract with Los Blancos is set to run until the end of the 2027/28 campaign, but it appears increasingly likely that he will depart the Spanish capital prior to then.
