Bucks’ Doc Rivers notes growing rapport between Ousmane Dieng, Giannis Antetokounmpo

The Milwaukee Bucks are on a downward spiral again, as they have gone winless in their last three games.

That being said, they are still very much an interesting team to follow for a number of reasons. For one, Giannis Antetokounmpo has finally returned to active duty after a long absence because of a calf injury.

Also, Ousmane Dieng is developing into a reliable weapon for Milwaukee, which lost to the Boston Celtics on Monday night at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, 108-81.

The 22-year-old Dieng made his second start for the Bucks since his trade from the Oklahoma City Thunder, and while the result was far from the desired outcome, is seemingly starting to believe in the 1-2 combo of Dieng and Antetokounmpo.

“This will be Ousmane Dieng’s second start with the Bucks and his first since Feb. 12. During his pregame session, Doc Rivers said Dieng played with Giannis Antetokounmpo regularly during his 4-on-4 return-to-play sessions and believes they have developed some chemistry together,” shared Eric Nehm of The Athletic on X, formerly Twitter just before the game against the Celtics.

The loss to the Celtics was just the first time that Dieng and Antetokounmpo played together, so Rivers can be expected to experiment further with having the two players on the court together.

Against Boston, Antetokounmpo had 19 points on 7/18 shooting with 11 rebounds, two assists and a block in 25 minutes, while Dieng had 13 points on 5/10 shooting with 21 assists and a rebound in 30 minutes.
