Structural reset at Tottenham? Chelsea chief and former Crystal Palace man eyed at N17, a month …

Fabio Paratici left the club earlier this year.

With the winter window barely looking like what Tottenham should have had, the North Londoners are already planning the blue prints of the upcoming summer window to ensure that the club fulfils the needs at hand of the squad.

And this is where the chiefs at Hotspur Way are already planning to bring in a new sporting director at N17, someone who can take over the vacancy left by Fabio Paratici, who moved to AFC Fiorentina after the conclusion of the January window.

It looks like Tottenham are already intensifying their efforts to bring in a new sporting director as Vinai and his staff look to reshape the football structure in place at Hotspur Way.

Winstanley and Freedman eyed at Tottenham

According to recent reports, Paul Winstanley, who is currently co-sporting director at Chelsea, and former Crystal Palace sporting director Dougie Freedman have both been considered at Tottenham. (h/t The Spurs Express via. X)

Tottenham are looking at Winstanley and Freedman

Winstanley has been one of the key figures in this modern recruitment model that Chelsea have implemented at Stamford Bridge. He has been working in part to identify and secure all those emerging talents that the West Londoners have been signing from across Europe and beyond.

As a Freedman, he has an excellent track record as well. Many Eagles fans have praised him for the recent success that Crystal Palace has enjoyed, given that it comes down to his eye for spotting talent and having a squad-building strategy.

This move from the Lilywhites shows how Tottenham are pushing to address the long-standing concerns around recruitment strategy and long-term planning at Hotspur Way as the supporters continue to ask questions around the direction that the club is heading in.

We will see where this goes, but it looks like the hierarchy at Hotspru Way has understood that the current way of working won’t take the Lilywhites a long way. And with managerial uncertainty still hovering around the touchline at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, it looks like the club have started from zero as they look to build a strong backroom base before turning their heads to the man at the helm and then to the players on the pitch.

This appointment will end up directing a lot around how Tottenham move in the market and on the pitch in coming windows.

If it does come to an option between Winstanley & Freedman, who would you rather have at Hotspur Way? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
