Chelsea’s game against Aston Villa is massive. The Blues need to catch their opposition in the chase for the top 5, and if they lose tomorrow their chances really fade. Defender Wesley Fofana spoke to the club’s official website, where he made it very clear that everyone knows how big the game is.

“It is a big game because we know if we win then we come back close to Aston Villa. But if we lose it’s not finished, because we have a lot of games after that,” Fofana said.

“But it’s a big game. Aston Villa is a good team and we will try to play good football, try to be aggressive, to press high and to win the game and take the three points.”

We hope we see that play out – we want to see the team on the front foot, taking advantage of a disheartened Villa team.

As well as the high pressing mentioned above, Fofana also noted in the same interview that Rosenior had brought a more “aggressive” style to Chelsea’s play than Enzo Maresca’s more studied patterns.

Fofana also spoke about Chelsea’s aims for the season, pointing out that they can still win a trophy or two. We will need to see some better defending if we want to do that.

Jorrel Hato has had to step up in recent games, and he talked to the Chelsea site about how he can earn more minutes.
