God forbid a man get a little motion in the offseason.

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb found himself at the center of some unexpected controversy over the weekend after a video surfaced of him drinking, dancing, and otherwise seeming to have a wonderful time at the OMNIA Nightclub in Las Vegas.

“Oh Boy: Cowboys star WR CeeDee Lamb was caught clubbing at a nightclub in Las Vegas this past weekend,” NFL influencer Dov Kleiman wrote on his official X account with the video of Lamb attached. “Lamb has received immense backlash for this, as most of his peers are already back in the gym training.”

Lamb, 26 years old, signed a 4-year, $136 million contract extension before the 2024 season and has seen his numbers decline each of the last 2 seasons, including watching another Cowboys wide receiver, George Pickens, earn NFL All-Pro honors in 2025.

Fans Quick to Defend CeeDee Lamb Over Controversy

Many people were quick to defend Lamb over the video.

“To be fair, I don’t think anybody on this team is going to put in more offseason work than CeeDee Lamb … ” Law Nation Sports wrote on X. “Let’s stop dehumanizing these NFL players. Let them LIVE!!!!!”

“Not letting them do it,” Boss Cowboy Sports wrote on X. “I was told by some of the best trainers, ‘the best thing players need to do after the season is ………… nothing.’ Let that body recover naturally and then hit the offseason hard. The players are men. They will drank and have a good time. Chill.”

“Don’t let these accounts shed negative light on Athletes enjoying their free time,” Cowboys fan Stephen Mac wrote on X. “I’d hate to see what the owners of these accounts do in theirs… I REFUSE to let our athletes be subject to such slander for simply being human!”

“It’s the offseason!” ESPN San Antonio’s Joe Reinagel wrote on his official X account. “Let the man party a little.”

“How tf they mad at this man for chilling….on his day off?” HTM Sports wrote on X. “And this don’t even prove that he HASNT been training. These folks crazy af.”

Unfortunately for Lamb, his recent history in Las Vegas hasn’t been all that great.

Lamb, Pickens Benched During Vegas Road Trip

Both Lamb and Pickens were benched during a 2025 regular-season road trip to Las Vegas. Head coach Brian Schottenheimer sat both of the star wide receivers for the 1st offensive series of a 33-16 Monday Night Football win over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 11.

“It was a coach’s decision to have Cowboys WRsCeeDee Lamb andGeorge Pickens miss the first series,” The Fort Worth Star Telegram’s Nick Harris wrote on his official X account. “It was not injury related. As it was communicated to me, ‘they missed some things.’ “

Both Pickens and Lamb reportedly missed a team curfew the night before the game and were spotted in a casino, with Pickens also reportedly missing a team bus to the stadium before the game.

Pickens famously showed up late to a Christmas Day game in 2024 when he was playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
