Jets Use Franchise Tag On Breece Hall

Breece Hall signed his new contract after being arguably the only good part of the 2025 New York Jets. Starting and appearing in 16 games, the Iowa State product finished the season with 1,065 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 243 attempts to go along with 36 receptions for 350 yards and an additional score. These are solid numbers on their own, but it’s even more impressive when you realize opposing defenses didn’t need to worry about defending the passing attack.

Hall originally entered the league as a second-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. Selected by the New York Jets, Hall immediately became the team’s most explosive playmaker, although it took him a bit to officially earn the starting job. In total, the rookie appeared in just seven games before tearing his ACL and recorded 463 yards and four touchdowns on 80 attempts.

Hall returned to the lineup in 2023 and reclaimed the starting job. Appearing in all 17 games, the running back recorded 994 rushing yards and five touchdowns on a poor offense and finished seventh in Comeback Player of the Year voting. He also had the longest run of the year with an 83-yard scamper and was a key part of the passing attack, finishing with 76 receptions for 591 yards.

The Jets officially moved on from Zach Wilson in 2024, but Hall remained the lead running back. With a healthy Aaron Rodgers at the helm, Hall finished the year with 876 yards and five touchdowns on 209 attempts and 57 receptions for 483 yards and three scores.

Since signing his rookie contract, Breece Hall has recorded 3,398 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns.
