The 21-year-old arrives at the Jakemans Community Stadium boasting an elite academy education, having progressed through Manchester City’s youth system before earning a move to [Brighton & Hove Albion](https://thedeck.news/brighton-hove-albion-lead-race-to-sign-ivorian-star/) in August 2022 on a three-year deal.
Although Barrington did not make a senior appearance for Brighton, he was firmly on the periphery of the first-team picture during the 2023-24 campaign. Senior experience arrived during a season-long loan spell with Grimsby Town in 2024-25. He made 38 League Two appearances for the Mariners, scoring four goals, and featured 43 times in all competitions.
