Stephen Curry injury update isn't good news for Warriors

The Golden State Warriors have struggled in Stephen Curry’s absence lately (he’s dealing with a knee injury).

The franchise is only one game above .500 and will likely need to win a game or two in the Play-In tournament to reach the playoffs this season. According to a recent injury report, the Warriors will be without their superstar point guard for a little while longer.

“Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry will sit out at least five more games because of his persistent right knee issue,” ESPN’s Anthony Slater stated Sunday.

“The Warriors will reevaluate Curry in 10 days, meaning he will be absent for their upcoming games against the (Los Angeles) Clippers, (Houston) Rockets, (Oklahoma City) Thunder, (Utah) Jazz, and (Chicago) Bulls. Curry has sat out the previous 10 games, with the Warriors going 4-6 without him.”

If Curry’s knee injury is more significant than the Warriors are letting on, Golden State will be in serious trouble as the playoffs loom closer. As mentioned above, the Warriors are currently in Play-In territory, and if they want any chance of reaching the first round of the postseason, Curry’s health can’t be a problem.

Kristaps Porzingis hasn’t been a dependable contributor from an availability standpoint recently, and with Jimmy Butler suffering an ACL injury in January, Golden State’s championship hopes are already slim.

Hopefully, Curry is ready to go when it matters most.
