Eden Hazard was fortunate enough to play alongside some very talented footballers during his time at Chelsea.

The former winger shared the Stamford Bridge pitch with the likes of Didier Drogba, Frank Lampard and John Terry.

Eden Hazard dubs Juan Mata as one of the most talented players he’s ever met

Hazard could not name outright the most talented player he has come across but did name-check former Chelsea teammate Juan Mata.

In response to RMC Sport’s question, Hazard said: “Obviously, there have been a few, there have been two or three really talented players. When I arrived, there was Juan Mata, magnificent left foot. Mata was talented, Gervinho was talented at Lille.

“There have been a lot of talented players, Cesc Fabregas, [Kevin] De Bruyne.”

During their time together at Stamford Bridge, Hazard and Mata were able to win the Europa League back in the 2012/13 season, the former’s first year in west London.

In total, Hazard and Mata played 69 games together before the Spaniard’s £37m move to Manchester United in 2014, according to Transfermarkt.

Mata never won the Premier League title at Chelsea but was able to get his hands on the Champions League trophy. Hazard was the opposite, earning two Premier League winners’ medals but failing to claim a Champions League one.

However, the retired Belgium international did finally manage to pick one up after moving to Real Madrid.

Gary Neville recently tried to compare Hazard and current Chelsea star Pedro Neto, but those comparisons were quickly shot down by his former national team boss Roberto Martinez.
