CBS Sports' John Breech predicted a few different scenarios where the Cleveland Browns could play in Europe again during the 2026 NFL season.
The NFL announced Tuesday the Atlanta Falcons will host the league’s Madrid international game in 2026. It will be the second straight year the league holds a regular season game in Spain.
That won’t impact the Cleveland Browns. But the possibility for Cleveland to play in a couple other overseas games still exists.
CBS Sports’ John Breech went through the scenarios Tuesday. Ultimately, he predicted the Browns to potentially play two games in Europe — one in London and another in Paris.
“[The Browns have] never played an international game as the visiting team, so this would be breaking new ground for them,” wrote Breech.
“A French media outlet has reported that the Browns will face the Saints in France. This is the outlet that originally broke in January the news of the Paris game, so it’s certainly possible that the Browns could be headed to France,” Breech added. “If the Browns do get sent, they could conceivably play the Jaguars in London in one week and then play the Saints in Paris the following.
“The NFL did that with the Vikings last year — sending them to Dublin and London in back-to-back weeks — so it could be in the cards for the Browns.”
The Browns have both the Jacksonville Jaguars and New Orleans Saints on their 2026 road schedule. The Jaguars and Saints will each host an international game this fall.
New Orleans will host the league’s first-ever regular season contest in Paris. The NFL has scheduled a new-high nine international games for 2026.
Will Browns Play in Paris & London During 2026 NFL Season?
The NFL is expanding its international schedule every year. With the series growing, it’s getting harder to predict whether the league will continue to follow the scheduling patterns it has previously.
But it’s not easy to fly across the Atlantic and deal with time zone changes. So, it makes sense for the NFL to have teams play multiple games once in Europe.
The Browns are a candidate to do that with a pair of road games because of their 2026 opponents.
The Jaguars will host two games in London. Breech predicted the Browns or Tennessee Titans as the opponent for the first contest.
For the Saints’ game in Paris, Breech named the Browns or the Las Vegas Raiders as the likeliest opponents.
Because of Las Vegas’ opponents, the Raiders aren’t a contender to play two back-to-back Europe games in 2026. In addition to Jacksonville, the Titans could be the road opponent for the Detroit Lions in Munich, Germany.
However, Breech strongly predicted the Lions to host the New York Giants for that contest.
Cleveland’s International Series History
The Browns just played in the NFL’s international series last year. But that was only the franchise’s second-ever game in the series.
The Minnesota Vikings defeated the Browns 21-17.
Before 2025, it had been eight years since the Browns last played overseas. But with roughly half the league playing international games every year now, the frequency with which Cleveland plays games in Europe is guaranteed to increase.
The Browns are 0-2 in their international game history. They also lost to the Vikings in 2017.
