Celtics Make Jayson Tatum Injury Announcement Ahead Of Hornets Clash

The Boston Celtics are fresh off a dominant 108-81 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday night, even though they were without Jaylen Brown and Neemias Queta for this game. While both guys are set to return to action when the C's square off against the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday, all eyes are on Jayson Tatum, who appears to be closing in on a return from his Achilles injury.

Tatum has been rehabbing his injury all year long in an effort to get back on the court and help Boston go on a deep playoff run. All signs point to Tatum's return being right around the corner, but the team revealed that he won't be playing against the Hornets, as he was once again ruled out for this contest.

Over the past few weeks, there has been buzz surrounding games where Tatum could potentially make his return. The superstar forward made it clear that he would be making his return in front of the home crowd at TD Garden, so pretty much every home game is a realistic target for Tatum at this point.

His long-awaited season debut won't be made against the Hornets, though, despite some rumors suggesting that Tatum would be a game-time decision. Tatum's next shot at suiting up will come on Friday, when the C's take on the Dallas Mavericks. First, Boston will look to get past Charlotte, with tip-off being scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday night.
