Expect the Las Vegas Raiders to make a very strong run at the Ravens star center Tyler Linderbaum, who is going to set records with his eventual payday. He’ll have many suitors, but I’m told the Raiders, who have a ton of cap space, very much like the idea of a stud like Linderbaum lining up in front of the No. 1 overall pick if Las Vegas does, in fact, draft Fernando Mendoza.
Linderbaum’s next contract is widely expected to reset the market for centers given his production and age. The Raiders are believed to have the financial flexibility needed to compete with other teams expected to pursue the standout lineman.
Should Las Vegas ultimately land Linderbaum, the move would signal a clear commitment to building from the trenches. Investing in a dominant center could provide stability up front while laying the foundation for the franchise’s next era on offense.
