David Moyes allayed fears over any Jarrad Branthwaite’s fitness after Everton’s victory over Burnley.
The Toffees finally ended their wait for a win at Hill Dickinson Stadium with a 2-0 triumph. James Tarkowski and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall were on target either side of half-time, with Everton securing a first home triumph since 6 December.
Moyes’ side are eighth in the Premier League table and are in pursuit of European qualification. Key defender Branthwaite missed the opening five months of the 2025-26 season because of a hamstring injury that required surgery.
He’s started the past two games, scoring in last weekend’s 3-2 win at Newcastle United, and was substituted in the 83rd minute against Burnley. Moyes insisted that Branthwaite was only suffering from fatigue, though. Speaking at his post-match press conference, the Everton boss said: "He's OK, yeah. It's probably a lot for Jarrad to go two games in a short time, so we just need to check. He was a bit fatigued by the end, Jarrad.”
