The Arsenal and former Albion striker could play at the stadium for the first time since the behind-closed-doors 2020-21 season as his current club visit tonight.
It would be his first appearance there in front of fans since going on as substitute for Jurgen Locadia in an FA Cup tie against Derby more than seven years ago.
Gyokeres has not been a prolific goalscorer since joining the Gunners but has 15 in all competitions, including two at Spurs recently, and has impressed with his work-rate.
He scored seven goals on loan from Albion to St Pauli in the 2019-20 season, before Hurzeler arrived at the Millerntor.

The Albion head coach said: “I heard a lot of stories (at St Pauli) about him and I heard how hard he was working to get where he is now.
“He seems to be a real grafter. He has the right work ethic, and I think he already showed it this season, how hard he works for Arsenal.
“He's not only a really good goalscorer, he's also a really good attacker regarding pressing.
“He's pressing the goalkeeper good, he never stops chasing the ball, he always tries to come behind the ball.
"Therefore, I think it's impressive because strikers always get judged by the goals but, when I see striker working that hard, I think it's also impressive, very important for a team like Arsenal.
“And we have it quite similar with Danny Welbeck.
“We always judge him by the goals, but I think he's also a very hard worker for the team and that gives the whole team a good feeling and a good energy.”
Gyokeres scored his only senior Albion goal in a League Cup tie with Portsmouth early in the 2020-21 season on a night when Alexis Mac Allister also opened his account in English football.
