LeBron James is on the brink of NBA history, needing just three field goals to surpass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's all-time record.
LeBron James is on the verge of history as the Los Angeles Lakers prepare to face the Denver Nuggets on Thursday night.
Los Angeles Lakers / Schedule
The Lakers are coming off a 110-101 home win against the New Orleans Pelicans, where James scored 21 points, grabbed seven rebounds, dished out seven assists, and added two blocks in 33 minutes.
James now needs just three field goals to surpass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most field goals in NBA history, a milestone that could be reached in Denver. Abdul-Jabbar holds 15,837 career field goals, while LeBron has 15,835.
In his 23rd NBA season and eighth with the Lakers, James has been putting up 21.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, 7.0 assists, and 1.1 steals per game, shooting 49.9% from the field and 32.0% from three.
His consistent performance has helped Los Angeles stay competitive, currently holding the sixth seed in the Western Conference with a 37-24 record.
The Lakers, 18-12 at home this season, will now turn their focus to Denver, where James has a chance to make history and solidify his place atop the NBA's all-time scoring charts.
