James Tarkowski and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall were on target for Everton, who recorded their first win at HDS since early December.
Everton’s away form has been great in that time, and fans have been hoping to see things get back on track at home.
Hopefully this will now be the start of a good run at Bramley-Moore Dock.
After the game, Moyes played down the talk about Everton’s new stadium, even admitting he has found the whole discourse ‘boring’.

His reply was defiant: “I’ve said a few times, it wasn’t the biggest thing that bothered me at all.

“Because I think if you look through all the clubs who move to new stadiums, you’d say it. The questions have actually been a bit boring over recent weeks. Because I think we’ve actually played quite well here, and not won. That can happen in the Premier League.
“If we don’t win, there’ll be some manager in the future and there’ll be some great teams here hopefully if the supporters here will see some great Everton teams going forward and hopefully some teams who win trophies as well.”

It was interesting to hear Moyes speak about the recent narrative of Everton struggling at home.
Clearly, he has not been overly concerned about results, pointing to other clubs having difficulty changing grounds.
But as he says, Everton had not been terrible performance-wise during the winless run.
Some credit must also go to the teams that came, rising to the occasion and making it difficult for Everton.
But one thing is for sure – after beating Burnley, Everton now have to set about making Hill Dickinson a real fortress.
The win should give the players confidence, and it’s time to give that kind of performance on a more consistent basis.
The fans will also have their part to play. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink spoke about Goodison Park’s intimidation factor recently, and some feel HDS still needs that to become a real fortress.
