Chelsea are reportedly in talks with midfielder Enzo Fernández about extending his stay at Chelsea. and increasing his weekly wage, according to reports.
Sources close to CHELSEA say preliminary negotiations have already begun ahead of the summer transfer window. Chelsea have identified Fernandez, one of their standout performers since arriving from Benfica, as a cornerstone of their midfield and are keen to reward him accordingly.
Talks are still in the early stages, with both the club and the player’s representatives working to find terms that reflect his contributions this season.
Fernandez signed a long-term contract with Chelsea when he joined in January 2023 — a deal that currently runs until 2032 — but has increasingly become a focal point in the club’s engine room. His tactical versatility, ability to drive play forward, and knack for key contributions have marked him out as one of the most influential midfielders in the Premier League this term.
Despite links to European heavyweights like Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain in recent windows, the Argentine has made it clear through his representatives that he wants to remain in London and build on his progress.
Chelsea’s willingness to engage positively in contract talks comes as a boost for supporters, particularly given the club’s broader efforts to stabilise after a turbulent couple of seasons off the pitch.

Does Enzo deserve new deal?
His technical quality and vision have helped connect Chelsea’s defence and attack, with the 24-year-old often leading the team in chance creation, progressive passes and overall goal contributions during recent seasons.
That influence has also translated into decisive moments, including goals in major fixtures and a strike in the 2025 UEFA Conference League final as CHELSEA secured European silverware.
Beyond the numbers, Fernández has emerged as a leader within a young squad, occasionally wearing the captain’s armband and setting the rhythm in matches when the team needs composure.
If the reports are true, he deserves that new deal.
