Cleveland Browns Film Room: Is Rasheed Walker Worth Top-Tier Money?

Almost universally, Rasheed Walker of the Green Bay Packers is considered the top offensive tackle on the market this offseason, and the Cleveland Browns have a desperate need at that position. Should they make a run at Walker, assuming he'll become one of the highest-paid tackles in the league?

Walker went undrafted in 2022 out of Penn State and was a reserve as a rookie before taking over as the starter in 2023. With three seasons as a starter and entering free agency having just turned 26 years old, Walker has positioned himself for a nice payday. The Browns (along with most NFL teams) are in desperate need of offensive line help, and have been linked to Walker for a while now. The question is going to be whether the upgrade that Walker provides over what Cleveland has had justifies what they'll need to pay him.

In a word, Walker is fine. He's not one of the top OTs in the league, but few are. He's certainly a lot better than what the Browns have dealt with over the past few seasons, and he's more consistent as well. He doesn't have any physical or athletic limitations, able to anchor, lock out his arms, and get to the second level fairly easily. There's nothing that he's great at, but there's really nothing that he's bad at, either.
