Speaking to TNT Sports after the game, Dewsbury-Hall revealed the private chat he had with David Moyes at the start of the season, which has paid dividends.

“To be honest, he’s given me real confidence to go and express myself,” the Toffees star explained.

“He said to me, the minute I came in, ‘I know what you can do, I know your strengths, go and show that’.

“That’s the best thing you can get as a player, when you’ve got a manager who truly believes in you and gives you the opportunity to go and do what you want to do.

“He’s been amazing from minute one, he’s helped me so much and I’ve got a lot of respect for him. You can see it’s helped me.”

Dewsbury-Hall sent an indirect message to Thomas Tuchel after the game, explaining that he feels like he’s in the best form of his career.

Tuchel should seriously consider calling him up, as there aren’t many players who have the same level of fitness and athleticism to get around the pitch whilst possessing quality and poise on the ball.

Dewsbury-Hall has a very unique profile that’d be perfect for the World Cup in America, as England will need runners in the hot temperatures.
