Chelsea’s defensive discipline has hit a new low under Liam Rosenior, with seven goals conceded from corners in just 13 games and a staggering 19 points dropped from winning positions this season.
After a good start to life at Chelsea in terms of results, there’s a lot more negativity creeping in after a few disappointing performances from the Blues.
Liam Rosenior has failed to win in any of his last three Premier League fixtures, which include throwing away leads against Leeds United and Burnley at Stamford Bridge.
Sloppy goals have been conceded that are easily avoidable, but it’s the discipline too that is still a major concern, even after a change of manager.
But that’s just one of many problems that Chelsea needs to solve right now.

Chelsea have conceded seven goals in 13 games from corners under Liam Rosenior
Chelsea have conceded seven goals from corners in Liam Rosenior’s 13 games, a record that represents a significant defensive deterioration since Maresca’s departure (The Guardian).
Dropping 19 points from winning positions this season is further evidence of complacency.
To put it into perspective, Enzo Maresca’s side conceded seven goals from corners in the entirety of the 2025-26 season, working out as one every three games, compared to one every 1.8 games.
The recent 2-1 loss to Arsenal, where both goals came from corners, has highlighted a significant deterioration in defensive organisation that Rosenior admits must be fixed.

Liam Rosenior’s improvements compared to Enzo Maresca
Under Liam Rosenior, Chelsea have pivoted from Enzo Maresca’s rigid football to an electric style. While Maresca provided a tactical identity, players like Joao Pedro and Enzo Fernandez have noted that Rosenior has introduced more energy.
Statistically, this shift has borne fruit in the opposition box, as Chelsea have already won seven penalties in Rosenior’s first 13 games, surpassing the six won during Maresca’s entire 28-match tenure this season.
Furthermore, Rosenior has instilled a greater sense of individual freedom, particularly for creative hubs like Cole Palmer, while now demanding a culture of responsibility.
