Hornets at Celtics preview: Defense and depth are keeping Boston on a hot streak

The Celtics continue to stack wins as the season shifts into the homestretch.

In fact, they’re playing so well right now, team leader Jaylen Brown and starting center Neemias Queta sat out Monday’s victory over the Bucks and Boston still coasted.

The Celtics enter Wednesday’s matchup against the Hornets having won 12 of their past 14 games, including three in a row. They have 21 games remaining.

Defense and depth have been the keys, as the Celtics have allowed fewer than 100 points in nine of their past 13 wins and are allowing an average of 107.0 points per game this season, the fewest of any NBA team.
