Dabo Swinney Adds Ex-NFL Coach Rich Bisaccia To Clemson's Staff

Dabo Swinney is officially adding a bit more firepower to Clemson's staff for the 2026 season.

Clemson announced Wednesday that Rich Bisaccia has been hired as the program's special teams coordinator. This is a huge addition to Swinney's staff considering Bisaccia has been a special teams coordinator in the NFL for over two decades, working for the Green Bay Packers, Las Vegas Raiders, San Diego Chargers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Bisaccia stepped down as the Packers' special teams coordinator this past February. Although fans thought he might be done coaching, he clearly wants to take a stab at coaching alongside Swinney.

"I am really excited to have the opportunity to work with the young men in the Clemson Football program and be part of a tremendous staff," Bisaccia said in a press release. "After I made the decision to move in a new direction, Coach Swinney approached me with the opportunity to come back to a place that holds special meaning for me and my family. I'm thrilled to be able to return to the Clemson community and serve this program in any way I can."

It's a reunion for Rich Bisaccia.

This will actually mark Bisaccia's second coaching stint at Clemson. He was a running backs coach and special teams assistant for the Tigers from 1994-1998.

"His experience and expertise in all things football - not just special teams - is a huge value to us," said Swinney. "He's a leader of men, and I think his perspective and his lens joining our organization will be incredibly valuable even beyond the impact that he'll make on our special teams."

It wouldn't surprise us at all if Bisaccia elevates Clemson's special teams unit this fall.
