A.J. Brown attracts multiple NFL teams despite Eagles’ steep price tag

A.J. Brown’s name continues to surface in trade discussions, and the noise around the Philadelphia Eagles receiver doesn’t seem to be dying down anytime soon. He is still under contract, but last season brought some clear tension that the organization has not forgotten.

The front office knows this is a delicate situation and openly shopping him could make things messier than they already are. On the field, though, there is no denying what Brown brings. Since joining the Eagles, he has racked up 339 receptions for 5,034 yards and 32 touchdowns across 62 games.

He played a key role in getting them to a Super Bowl and delivered plenty of memorable performances. Still, in 2025, he made it known he wanted a bigger role in the offense, and that did not go unnoticed.

With free agency now underway and rumors swirling, Brown sits near the top of the list when it comes to potential trade candidates.

Dianna Russini of The Athletic reported that his situation mirrors that of Maxx Crosby. League sources say the Eagles have slapped a steep asking price on the three-time Pro Bowler, and despite the hefty cost, teams are still calling.

“A.J. Brown’s situation is similar to Maxx Crosby’s.” Russini wrote. “League sources say the Eagles have set a high price for the three-time Pro Bowler, and Howie Roseman has remained firm, even dating back to last season: To get Brown, it will take a big package. Teams remain interested.”

Russini pointed to the Crosby situation because reports suggest the Las Vegas Raiders want a package similar to what the Dallas Cowboys paid for Micah Parsons, two first-round picks plus Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kenny Clark.

That is an aggressive ask, especially since Parsons was younger at the time and Crosby is coming off meniscus surgery, which adds risk for any team considering a deal.

For Brown, it’s a similar setup. If a team steps up and meets the valuation, the Eagles walk away with a massive haul.

If the market falls short, they keep one of the league’s top receivers. There is no real reason to lower the price. Either way, Philadelphia comes out ahead.
