Pep Guardiola, Manager of Manchester City, embraces Mikel Arteta, Manager of Arsenal, prior to the Premier League match between Arsenal FC and Manchester City FC
Pep Guardiola and Mikel Arteta are competing for the Premier League title
Arsenal's Premier League title-race showdown against Manchester City has been moved as part of the latest round of fixture changes. The alterations also see Chelsea's encounter with Manchester United switched to Sunday, April 19 with both clubs fighting for the Champions League, as well as April's Merseyside derby between Everton and Liverpool.
The Gunners currently have a five-point lead at the summit but Pep Guardiola's side could reduce the deficit with a win over strugglers Nottingham Forest on Wednesday. The encounter at the Etihad Stadium will go a long way to settling who will be crowned champions of England in May and will be played on April 19 at 4.30pm.
Chelsea's home matches with Manchester City and Manchester United have been moved and will now be played on April 12 at 4.30pm and Saturday, April 18 at 8pm on Sky Sports and TNT Sports, respectively.
Liverpool, who look set to limp to the end of their Premier League title defence, have also seen their trip across the city to face Everton for their first visit to the Hill Dickinson Stadium moved after initially being pencilled in for April 18. The game will now be played on Sunday, April 19 at 2pm.
The games could be further moved with the Champions League quarter-finals due to be played between April 7 and 8, as well as April 14 and 15.
There could be more movement depending on FA Cup participation with clubs vying for a place in the next round on Saturday. The quarter-final and semi-final are due to be played on April 4 and April 25, respectively.
The Reds will be hoping to return to form after Tuesday's damaging 2-1 defeat to rock-bottom Wolves but their run of fixtures between now and April look testing in their bid to salvage the campaign with the threat of failing to qualify for Champions League looming.
