The Los Angeles Lakers have struggled to play well with their three superstars on the floor together. With Luka Doncic, LeBron James, and Austin Reaves on the floor together, the advanced metrics prove they don’t play as well as just two of them sharing the floor.
After beating the Pelicans on Tuesday, the Lakers are on a three-game winning streak. They still sit sixth in the Western Conference standings. LA is trying to find a way to stay out of the play-in, which would require them to stay higher than seventh in the standings.
Doncic usually talks to the media after every game. After the win against New Orleans, he showed some frustration with reporters after one particular question.

Los Angeles Lakers Guard Luka Doncic Gets Frustrated With Repeat Question
Following the victory, Doncic was asked about the biggest source of improvement with the team since the All-Star break. Specifically, what is the biggest improvement with him, Reaves, and James on the floor at the same time? Doncic was frustrated by getting the question yet again.
“You guys going to ask me this question every night? Every night.”
Doncic is tired of the talk surrounding the top three guys on the team. It is the biggest talking point surrounding the team at the moment. However, Doncic did answer the question.
“But you know, I think just what everybody sees, you know, we obviously won three in a row. We playing together since All-Star break, everybody. Obviously, the chemistry is going to keep building, every day, every game we play.”
This is the first full season that these three players have played together. With all of the injuries, it has been tough for them to gather that chemistry. That’s why these numbers have fluctuated so much. Doncic is going to keep getting this question until they go on a significant winning streak.

The Los Angeles Lakers Have Struggled to Stay Healthy
Reaves has missed 26 games so far. James has missed 17 games. Doncic has been the healthiest of the three stars, as he has missed only 11 games. The Lakers have to keep those three guys healthy if they want to have any shot of winning a championship this season.
LA has also struggled against teams above .500, as they are only 14-18 over the best teams in the NBA. Doncic will likely start to get questions about that stat before too long. Los Angeles is trying to win a championship before James either retires or moves on to another team.
The Lakers will have a shot to get a win over a good team when they take on the Nuggets on Thursday night. That will be another nationally televised game on Amazon Prime. The Nuggets have been a thorn in LA’s side, as they have eliminated them from the playoffs multiple times in the last few years.
