Yet, despite Chelsea's poor form, Liam Rosenior's side can go back into fifth with three points in the Midlands this evening after Liverpool lost against rock-bottom Wolves last night.
Crucially, with three points, the Blues would also move within touching distance of tonight's opponents Villa. If Unai Emery's side win, though, they will move six points clear of Chelsea.
It is looking like a must-win match for Rosenior's side as they cannot afford to lose any more ground in the race for a Champions League place.
