Wrexham have a strong following in the US thanks to famous owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney and their ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ series, which will soon air its fifth season.

Liverpool last visited the US in 2024, in what was Slot’s first summer at the club, which saw them beat Real Betis in Pittsburgh, Arsenal in Philadelphia and Man United in Columbia.

Who could be involved in Liverpool’s 2026 US tour?

The summer is complicated by the World Cup, which will take place across the US, Canada and Mexico, meaning there could be a considerable list of late returnees for pre-season.

The tournament is played between June 11 and July 19, during which period the club will be reviewing the 2025/26 season and plotting moves in the transfer market.

This means there will be a staged return once players are knocked out of the tournament and enjoy their summer break, meaning academy players could again feature prominently as they did in Slot’s first pre-season.

Speaking of the head coach, Slot has retained the hierarchy’s support this season but his position will come under consideration, though much will depend on how his side closes out the current campaign.

As for the squad, Andy Robertson is unlikely to be offered a contract extension and there remains no guarantee over **Ibrahima Konate**‘s presence as he has yet to accept an offer from the club.

Question marks will linger over the likes of Mohamed Salah, Joe Gomez, Federico Chiesa and Wataru Endo, meaning Liverpool’s squad could look quite different in the US, even with the late returnees.
