San Antonio Spurs ace Harrison Barnes is usually so dependable, but he just ruined a streak of 364-straight games in the NBA due to a freak injury.
Ahead of the game between San Antonio and the Philadelphia 76ers, Barnes was expected to start yet again, seeing as he’s averaged 25 minutes per game so far this season.
However, late in the day, he reported a niggling pain and had to be treated by medical staff. Turns out, it was all because of a nap that went wrong.

Harrison Barnes misses game due to injury from a nap
----------------------------------------------------
For the first time since 2021, when he actually played for a different team, the Sacramento Kings, Barnes was not stepping onto the court for an NBA game.
That’s 364 consecutive games the 33-year-old has featured in, and that record is now over after missing the clash on Tuesday night.
As per a report from [NBC](https://www.nbcnews.com/sports/nba/harrison-barnes-misses-game-nap-rcna261676), the whole thing occurred after Barnes took a pregame nap and woke up with what coach Mitch Johnson described only as “soreness.”

Barnes was attended to by medical staff after reporting the issue, but it’s unclear just how long this mysterious injury will keep him off the court for.
Mikal Bridges’ record is safe
-----------------------------
Thankfully, the Spurs still won the game, recording a comprehensive 131-91 victory over the 76ers. That win keeps them in second place in the Western Conference, though catching the Oklahoma City Thunder at the top will be easier said than done.
Meanwhile, Barnes has kissed his record goodbye and leaves Mikal Bridges out clear with the longest-active streak of games. The New York star has played an astonishing 616 straight games.

Barnes was also the closest to Bridges’ record for most games since 2021, with 382 to his name. He’ll now be hoping he can get out on the court again as soon as possible and keep that number moving in the right direction.
