Carlo Ancelotti and Ronald Koeman Everton records now in sight for David Moyes after 12th PL win

David Moyes is on course to potentially equal the most number of wins Carlo Ancelotti and Ronald Koeman ever got in a single Premier League season at Everton.

On Tuesday night, the Toffees recorded another victory in the Premier League, beating Burnley 2-0 at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

What impressed you most about that win against Burnley? 👏

This came just days after a brilliant win up at St. James’ Park against Newcastle United.

The back-to-back wins have given fans cause for huge optimism now, with European football most definitely attainable.

The win over Burnley was Everton’s 12th of the season – and it’s not inconceivable that David Moyes will match the number of wins Carlo Ancelotti managed in 2020/21.

There are now nine games left for Everton this season.

Although fans would love it, the Toffees are realistically not going to win all nine for them.

So equalling the record 21 wins Roberto Martinez managed in 2013/14 is definitely unlikely.

But there are a couple of milestones that Moyes could definitely match.

In 2020/21, Carlo Ancelotti oversaw 17 Premier League victories as Everton manager, with the team ultimately finishing 10th. So five more this term would see Moyes equal the Italian’s feat.

Ronald Koeman also managed 17 in the 2016/17 season.

But these milestones were actually both bettered by Moyes himself in his first stint at Everton.

In 2004/05, Moyes oversaw 18 Premier League victories, and a few years later in 2007/08, he recorded his best ever, 19. His own record might be slightly out of reach, but certainly Ancelotti and Koeman’s 17 are matchable.

What are Everton’s remaining Premier League games in 2025/26?

Moyes will hope to win every game between now and the end of the season.

It would be a very tall order for that to happen, but there’s certainly a great chance to pick up a handful more wins in the coming weeks.

The fixtures that jump out though in terms of difficulty are Arsenal next up on March 14, followed by Chelsea.

Everton then go to Brentford, who have obviously been having a great season and are currently a direct rival to the Toffees for Europe.

Then it’s the Merseyside Derby, with Manchester City following a couple of weeks after that.

But it feels like something is brewing with Everton right now and that latest home win over Burnley could be quite significant.

There’s momentum there now and at the very latest, Everton will be difficult for any of these teams to actually beat.
