Bournemouth star‘under genuine consideration’ as Liverpool make summer plans

Liverpool were once again exposed for a lack of pace and cutting edge out wide in Tuesday’s defeat to bottom club Wolves at the Molineux Stadium.

Regardless of whether they secure Champions League qualification, further recruitment will be required this summer to prevent this season’s inconsistency from spilling into the next.

After winning the Premier League title, the Reds struck a double deal with Bayer Leverkusen for Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz, before signing Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt.

They have also agreed a deal worth up to £55million for Rennes centre-back Jeremy Jacquet, who will officially join in July but is currently sidelined with a shoulder injury.

Last summer, Liverpool also signed highly rated defender Giovanni Leoni from Parma for £26million. However, the 19-year-old suffered a serious ACL injury on his debut in September and remains out.

There is also uncertainty surrounding Ibrahima Konate, whose contract expires this summer, while Andy Robertson’s long-term future has been questioned after he narrowly avoided a January move to Tottenham Hotspur.

According to the Daily Mail, Bournemouth midfielder Tyler Adams has attracted interest from Manchester United and Liverpool following his impressive displays this season.

The USA international initially emerged as a target for United last summer, but his momentum was halted when he suffered a medial cruciate ligament injury — ironically at Old Trafford while blocking a shot from Matheus Cunha.

Bournemouth feared he would be sidelined for three months, yet he returned after just eight weeks and made his first start back against West Ham.

Adams has developed into one of the Premier League’s most consistent central midfielders in recent seasons, with his performances and underlying statistics strengthening his reputation.

As a result, he is under genuine consideration as Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea shape their summer transfer plans. He is valued at around £40million.
