Denver Nuggets Sign Former NBA 1st-Round Pick Before Lakers Game

On Thursday evening, the Denver Nuggets will play the Los Angeles Lakers (at home) in Colorado.

The Nuggets are coming off a 128-125 victory over the Utah Jazz.

Jamal Murray led the team by exploding for 45 points, two rebounds, eight assists and two steals while shooting 13/19 from the field and 8/13 from three-point range in 38 minutes of playing time.

Before Thursday’s game, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that the Nuggets are signing David Roddy.

Charania wrote: “The Denver Nuggets are signing 2022 first-round pick David Roddy to a two-way NBA deal out of the Raptors 905 in the G League, sources tell ESPN. Additional wing depth for the Nuggets for the regular season.”

Roddy’s NBA Background

Roddy was the 23rd pick in the 2022 NBA Draft out of Colorado State.

He has spent time with the Atlanta Hawks, Memphis Grizzlies, Phoenix Suns, Houston Rockets and Philadelphia 76ers over three seasons.

His career averages are 6.2 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.0 assists per contest while shooting 42.1% from the field and 30.3% from three-point range in 168 games.
