The Buffalo Bills are a team that desperately needs to address the wide receiver position heading into the NFL offseason, as it was a glaring weakness once again for Josh Allen and company during the 2025 campaign.

Fortunately for Buffalo, there are a few intriguing players that might be available for the taking at wide receiver during the offseason, which would immediately improve the position for the 2026 NFL season, with Indianapolis Colts rising star Alec Pierce being one of those players.

Pierce will be a hot commodity once NFL free agency gets underway, as he’ll be one of the most sought-after wide receivers on the open market if he doesn’t end up re-signing with the Colts, who are interested in getting a long-term deal done with the young wideout.

During an appearance on the Up & Adams Show with Kay Adams, Pierce was asked about potential landing spots, and it seems he was intrigued by the prospect of being one of Allen’s targets downfield next season and beyond.

“That would be special,” Pierce said of potentially catching passes from Allen. “He’s one of the most talented quarterbacks in the NFL. Big fan of his game. So that would be cool, too.”

There will be no shortage of competition for Pierce’s services during the offseason, with plenty of teams around the league looking to upgrade the wide receiver position.

However, if Pierce is interested in catching passes from Allen for the foreseeable future, the Bills might have an advantage in free agency.

Bills GM Shares Thoughts on WR Keon Coleman

One reason the Bills are on the hunt for an upgrade at wide receiver is that Keon Coleman hasn’t really panned out in Buffalo, which is unfortunate given the team’s high hopes for his development.

During the NFL scouting combine, Bills general manager Brandon Beane was asked about the relationship between Coleman and the team, and it seems they have not yet lost faith in the young wideout.

“It’s been good,” Beane said on NFL Network’s coverage of the NFL Scouting Combine regarding the Coleman-Brady relationship. “We got a new wide receiver coach, as well, Drew Terrell, that’s very excited. Pete Carmichael’s our new OC. Pete, those guys, all watched him and they were like, man, I’m looking forward to working with him. I think there’s a new energy and its Year 3, and we’re gonna hit the full reset with Keon.

“Keon had a very good offseason last year, and honestly he had a very good training camp. We played the Ravens that first game. He had 100 and whatever yards, and just some things from a maturity standpoint after that, but Keon has said all the right things. I give him this, he’s very accountable. He’s never made excuses. We’re all hands on deck. We’re all going to do our part. And I know Joe and those new coaches are very excited for what is in store for Year 3.”

Only time will tell what the future holds for Coleman in Buffalo and whether he can start to live up to expectations, as the team could very well bring in another wide receiver like Pierce, which would hurt his chances of truly reaching his potential with the Bills.
