Aaron Rodgers revealed an increase in stalkers and paparazzi has forced him to change his lifestyle. While most are focused on Rodgers’ professional career, tabloids have paid close attention to his private life. Rodgers railed against those trying to uncover details about him away from the game.
“We’re not living at the beach anymore,” Rodgers told the Pat McAfee Show, referring to him and his wife. “Part of it is I have legitimate stalkers, and I don’t say that lightly or flippantly. I’ve been getting stalked at my house for about a year-and-a-half when I was living there. Not just that, but stalked at the coffee shop I would frequent. The gym at Proactive that I would go to. Which was really bizarre. Still is.
“And then the paparazzi was stalking me for a long time. Flying drones over my house. I’ve learned has a bounty on getting a picture of my wife, which I think is very bizarre as well.”
Last offseason, TMZ shared a photo of Rodgers by himself along Malibu beach during his offseason contemplation before joining the Steelers.
Though this site has hardly, if ever, mentioned Rodgers’ marital status, it’s been a hot topic on social media and among select media outlets. During a training camp interview last summer, Rodgers was spotted wearing a wedding ring and confirmed he got married.
He’s kept details over his wife and marriage hidden, and there’s still no confirmation who his wife is. During today’s interview, Rodgers admitted he first met his wife in 2017 with the two reconnecting later on and getting married within the last year.
It’s unfortunate Rodgers has needed to change his daily lifestyle and prevent him from going to places or seemingly even still living in Malibu. Some will attribute to a cost of fame. Rodgers disagrees and affirmed his view to exit public life once his playing days are over. Which could start as soon as this offseason.
“We’re not living a public life,” he said. “We’re not going to now, not in the future, not ever. When this is done, it’s Keyser Söze and you won’t see me.”
Rodgers conducted a more-than one hour interview with McAfee. As usual, it touched on a wide variety of topics. There’s still no final decision on Rodgers’ future and it doesn’t sound like an answer is coming anytime soon. Off the field, it’s clear Rodgers is understandably upset about the disruption to his private life that’s intensified in the final years of his career.
