Omer Yurtseven, a 7-foot Turkish center and three-year NBA veteran, is returning to the G League with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers after two seasons with Panathinaikos.
Three-year NBA veteran Omer Yurtseven has signed into G League and will join the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the affiliate of the Houston Rockets, according to Jake Fischer of The Stein Line.
The 7-foot (2.13 m) center, who previously played for the Miami Heat and Utah Jazz, spent the past two seasons in Greece with Panathinaikos Athens.
Yurtseven saw reduced playing time after 10-year NBA veteran Richaun Holmes returned from injury, and both sides agreed to part ways on Feb. 28.
This season, the 27-year-old Turkish big man appeared in 19 EuroLeague games for Panathinaikos, averaging 6.3 points and 3.5 rebounds in about 12 minutes per game.
Yurtseven played in the 2020-21 season with the G League team of the Oklahoma City Thunder before starting his NBA career with the Heat. Over 113 NBA games, he has averaged 5.0 points and 4.6 rebounds per game.
