[Alejandro Garnacho](https://chelseanews.com/) has not enjoyed an ideal start to life at Chelsea after a blockbuster transfer from Manchester United this past summer transfer window, but he shone brightly in the Blues 4-1 demolition of fellow top five contenders Aston Villa in his latest Premier League outing.
For the most part, Garnacho has only been standing out positively in the smaller cup games, as he has been such a passenger in the Premier League that there are already Chelsea fans who want him sold after just one season.
But Garnacho provided clear evidence that he deserves more time and may have the upside the Blues are looking for in the attack with a real playmaker’s performance vs. Villa.
Yes, Joao Pedro was obviously the best player on the pitch with a hat trick and another assist for good measure, but the other hyped offseason addition was also brilliant with a team high six assists.
It was a much more intelligent and efficient attacking performance from Garnahco, who drew three fouls and assisted in a dynamic display on the left wing. He even defended well, too, by leading the team with four tackles, looking like a man playing for his job with a fire lit under him.
Liam Rosenior has backed Garnacho strongly, and if he can keep that fire lit under Garnacho, there is reason to believe he can play himself into contention on the left wing, especially against opponents where he can be more of that playmaker than a true winger.
Against a quality Aston Villa side, Garnacho was flawless, and while he will have much tougher matchups going forward than Matty Cash, this display is a real confidence booster that the Argentinian sensation can use to build on.
