Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, head coach Nick Nurse revealed that Edgecombe's MRI on his back came back good and clean, and a re-evaluation will happen "in the next couple of days."
"All the imaging came back good, clean," Nurse told reporters, via Ky Carlin of USA Today. "I did talk to him. He said he was fine.
"He'll get re-evaluated here in the next couple days and see where he's at."
It was revealed recently that Edgecombe sustained a lumbar contusion in Philly's 131-91 previous loss against the San Antonio Spurs. He left prematurely during the second quarter after taking a hard fall.
He was already ruled out of Wednesday's matchup against the Utah Jazz, and his status will be determined ahead of Philadelphia's next game against the Atlanta Hawks.
The reigning No. 3 pick of last year's NBA Draft, Edgecombe is averaging 15.5 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 57 games.
